Care that feels like family, led by a nurse practitioner
Berkins Home Care Services was founded by Betty “Effie” Markin, MSN, FNP-C, a Family Nurse Practitioner who wanted families in Northeast Ohio to get the kind of care she’d want for her own. Effie meets every new family in person to learn about your loved one’s routines, preferences, and needs before care begins.
We don’t stop at the first caregiver. We keep matching until the fit is right, and we stay involved after care starts.
Our caregivers help with the everyday things that keep people safe and comfortable at home: bathing and dressing, meals, light housekeeping, walks, errands, and good company, always with dignity and on your loved one’s terms.

I have enjoyed Berkins Home Care Services since April this year. The owner is just wonderful. She comes out to meet you and discuss what your needs are. She has sent me round-the-clock help when I needed it, but now I have one person Monday through Friday. She is wonderful and does so much to help make my life easier. She cooks and does some household chores. She takes me for walks outdoors and helps with showering and dressing. I am very, very happy with the services from this company.
