We started Berkins because home is sacred. After years of watching loved ones lose themselves inside the walls of facilities, our founder built an agency designed around a different idea: that with the right caregiver beside you, home can stay home.
Today, Berkins serves Cleveland and the surrounding suburbs from our headquarters in Mayfield Heights, supporting families with everything from a few hours of companionship a week to specialized dementia care.

A message from Betty.
I’m Betty Markin, a Family Nurse Practitioner with over 20 years of experience in the nursing field. Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of caring for people across all walks of life, and I’ve come to believe that quality and compassionate care should always feel personal.
That belief is what inspired me to start Berkins Home Care LLC. As both a nurse and a caregiver at heart, I wanted to create a home care agency that treats every client like family — with kindness, dignity, and respect.
With my background as a board-certified FNP and a master’s degree in nursing, I lead our care team with clinical expertise and genuine empathy. I understand what families go through when they’re seeking support for a loved one, and I’m here to make sure that experience is smooth, respectful, and centered on trust.
At Berkins, we don’t just provide care — we build relationships. And we’re honored to walk alongside our clients on their health and healing journeys.
